I can tell I’m going to find it really hard to decide what flowers and arrangements I want. So many pretty options there. Peonies and roses seem to come a lot in bouquets that I like. Do I stick with all pale flowers or have a few brighter colours to add a bit of contrast. Lots of decisions and this only one part of the wedding planning.
We still need to fix a date and book a registrar so maybe I’m getting ahead of myself, but it sure is fun looking :)
I have been engaged less than a week and I’m already flowing with ideas. We are planning to wed in May next year so there is a lot to be done in a short time. Looking through sites such as Pinterest and Etsy and having attended a Wedding Fair it shows that if you could afford to you could spend £1000’s. We unfortunately don’t have much of a budget so I have been thinking of ways of creating the effect I like but on a lower budget. We have started to write down a budget and its amazing how quickly just the essentials add up. But a girl can dream and I’ve been Pinning like mad!
I would like to go for a vintage style wedding with pinks and ivory and lots of flowers and candles. These are some of my favourite bouquets at the moment.
So pretty! I’m hoping that some of these flowers might be in season in May, as apparently it is cheaper to order flowers of the season.
Now for the cake, my Fiance would like to have a try at making it. He is very talented in that department, and even made a guinea pig shaped cake for my 30th last year. We are thinking of having one pink champagne sponge, a second a plain sponge and the top a fruit cake as this is traditionally kept for the christening ( if we are lucky enough to have this joy in the future)
These are some of my favourite styles at the moment. Again so pretty!
If I’m allowed to gush for the moment. I am so happy and excited to be married to my best friend, the man I love with all my heart. And even though we have a small budget I know its going to be a special and most wonderful day that we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Sorry for not posting the last few days, my partner and I went away for a few days to Glastonbury (the town not the festival). Little did I know that he had a surprise in store for me.
It started with a walk up to the top of Glastonbury Tor.
When we reached to top….
He asked me to marry him!
Of course I said YES!
I’m SO happy!
The next day we went to the seaside, and he wrote his proposal in the sand.
He’s such a romantic!
But then so am I! We are planning to get married in May so there is a lot to do in a short time. Of course I will be sharing the planning with you all. I’m so excited!
I thought I would share with you the recipe for the snickerdoodle cookies featured in my post yesterday. They are so simple to make and taste delicious. They also seem to improve in taste after a couple of days… if they last you that long that is! :)
Its one of those days where its cold and wet out, and all you want to do is curl up with a nice cup of tea some home baked cookies.
I made these snickerdoodle cookies yesterday and if I can say so myself they are rather yummy. I’ve not not made them before and they are on the list to be made again. I love how they are covered in a delcious cinnamon sugar.
I hope you are enjoying your sunday.
